1. Week 3 VW and definition:
yearn for (phrasal verb)
always: adverb of frequency, such as usually, often, sometimes, never. In present tense.
historical (-al) adj, means from history
2. Sentence pattern of this week:
There (be verb: am/is/are ; was/ were) + (a number / quantity) of (nouns) + (preposition: in / on /at) the (noun) + (time).
example: There were a lof of settlers in the new city in America fifty years ago.
There were only twenty highways in Taiwan many years ago.
3. Review mistakes in the Unit Test.
4. Imperative and Exclamatory sentences.
Imperative is a command/order, it begins with a VERB.
example: Open the windows.
Please pass me the salt.
Exclamatory is an expression of feeling / emotion.
example: Wow! What a beautiful view.
That's an amazing story!
