1. Worksheet review ~ subject-verb agreement.
- Singular subject → verb ends with -s.
🟢 He runs.
🟢 The cat sleeps.
- Plural subject → verb does NOT end with -s.
🟢 They run.
🟢 The cats sleep.
- Don't be tricked by words in between.
🟢 The boy, along with his friends, likes candy.
- Use the subject closest to the verb when using "or", "nor", etc.
🟢 Neither the boys nor the girl wants cake.
🟢 Either the dog or the cats eat first.
- "Here" or "There" – look after the verb for the subject.
🟢 There is a dog.
🟢 Here are the presents.
- Words like "everyone", "nobody", "someone", "each" are singular.
🟢 Everyone likes candy.
- Words like "few", "many", "both", "several" are plural.
🟢 Many like fruit
