1. CV/VC words and meaning review, please check the flash card. CV/VC word list  

2. Articles: a / an / the 

        pay attention when a word begins with letter "u": 

  •          put "an" in front of it when the "u" has a vowel sound as in : umbrella / unclear / understanding / unusual 
  •             put "a" in front of it when the "u" has a consonant sound (ju) as in: university / unicorn/ US citizen / uniform / usual 
         pay attention when a word begins with letter "h": 
  • put "an" in front of it when the "h" is silent / not pronpounced as in : hour / honest / honor/ herb / heir 
3. In-class writing assignment 1st draft, students may need to research on some facts about the landmarks they write about at home.
