1. Week 6 VW and definition Week 6 VW

  •     snug vs sung (sing / sang/ sung) 

                snug (adjective) vs snuggle (verb)

                He feels snug in this soft bed. 

  • graceful ~ ful is the suffix, meaning full of 

                review suffix & prefix

  • kimono  ~ the Japanese wear kimono at special events or festivals. 

                    not the Japan people 

  • slurp ~ The Japanese like to slurp when they eat ramen, it is their culture/tradition to show that they appreciate the ramen and it is yummy. 
  • quake ~ fear & anger ; quiver ~ cold & nervous 
  • giggle vs snicker 
  • clog ~ shoes with thick or wooden platform as the traditional in Japanese / Netherlands. 
  • obi = sash 

2. CV/VC = 2 vowels being put together but they have separate syllables as in piano(pi-an-o) 

    CV/VC vs CVVC

    cereal (ce-re-al) vs real (1 syllable)

    video (vi-de-o)
