3.  Action verbs vs  linking verbs: 

    Verbs that show action and can be seen are action verbs

     Linking verbs do not show actions. They tell what the subject is or what they subject is like. Common linking verbs are "verb to be" such as am/is/ are / was/ were. Verbs such as seem, appear, become, and feel can also be linking verbs.
