1. Review Week 13 vocabulary, POS and definition Week 13 VW

•     in Spanish: the beginning "j" has the "h" sound. So the correct pronunciation for jalapeno is: / hɑː.ləˈpeɪ.njoʊ/

2. Review some common mistakes in the writing assignment and test: 

•     thank vs thankful 

    thank (v.) someone : I thank my parents for always taking care of me. 

    thankful (adj.) for: I am thankful for my parents who always take care of me. 

•    mistake: I ate finished lunch.  / I watched finished the movie.  (Don't put the word "finish" ~ that is Chinese direct translation!)
•  correct sentence: After I finished eating lunch.   / After I finished watching the movie. 

the word "eating" and "watching" in the sentences above are not verbs, they are gerunds. By adding "ing" to a verb, it becomes a NOUN. 

e.g.: I go swimming (n.). 

        I go to swim(v.). 

• adding the suffix "ure/ture" to make a noun: mixture / creature / furniture/ picture
