 Today's lesson 1. Week 3 vocab quiz  2. Reading Street story: Lewis and Clark and Me     Narrated by: Seaman      10 sentences summary as shown in Sensay:  Lewis and Clark and Me was a story told by a dog named Seaman. “Lewis walked along the dock with a large stride” when he saw Seaman for the first time. “Need a dog, sir?” Seaman’s owner asked, and Lewis bought him for twenty dollars. “I have always loved the water,” so Seaman was excited to travel on the Ohio River. One day, Seaman saw “hundreds of squirrels” swimming across the river. Lewis told him, “Fetch us a squirrel,” and Seaman jumped into the water to catch them. When they met Native Americans, one of them pointed at Seaman and said, “Bear.” Lewis smiled and said, “I guess he does look like a bear.” A Native American offered “three beaver skins for my dog,” but Lewis said, “No trade.” Seaman knew that “nothing could separate” him from Lewis, and they stayed together on their adventure...

Long a and i, and vocabulary meaning on RWN p55    ay = long a (spray / dismay (n. disappointment )     ai = long a (bait (n. sth used to trap sth) I used a piece of cheese as th bait to trap mice.  4. VERB ending with -ing and -ed. In present tense.        historical (-al) adj, means from history  2.
